190206-N-SA412-0639 PHILIPPINE SEA (Feb. 6, 2019) - Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) prepare to board an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the "Island Knights" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) during a Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) drill. Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
