Staff Sgt. Jeffrey, 558th Flying Training Squadron, remotely piloted aircraft student pilot, receives a pre-flight brief from Maj. Ryan Rubek, 558th FTS RPA instructor, prior to a pre-check flight in a T-6 Texan II flight simulator Feb. 5, 2019 at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. The Air Force announced the initiative to integrate the enlisted force into the RPA flying operations as pilots Dec. 17, 2015, starting with the RQ-4 Global Hawk. Surnames were withheld to comply with Air Force guidelines on the release of names for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance personnel.
