NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Feb. 1, 2019) Chief Boatswain's Mate Robert Shirley, from Social Circle, Georgia, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) deck department, receives a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal from Capt. John J. Cummings, Ford's commanding officer, during his promotion ceremony at the Mariners' Museum.
