Lt. Col. Owen Johnson III, chief, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, uses a laser-assisted indocyanine green angiography (LAICGA) portable handheld imaging device for the first time ever at WBAMC during a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, Jan. 18. The device enables surgeons to visualize microvascular blood flow and related tissue perfusion, making more complex surgical cases possible.
