Halfway into a nearly two-month-long project at Gray Army Airfield on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., to erect an Expeditionary Forces Aircraft Shelter System for soldiers of the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, soldiers with the 585th Engineer Company take a break Jan. 10 from slotting holes into the concrete foundation that will support the structure. The 16th CAB soldiers, who arrived to JBLM last summer, will use the shelter as a supply depot for helicopter parts. The project, which began in early December and is expected to end later this month, allowed soldiers with the company to return to some of their grass roots construction skills.
