Vice Admiral Brian Brown, commander Naval Information Forces, gave the opening remarks at the National African-American Black History Month ceremony held Feb. 5. The program included the Symphonic orchestra from Colonel Fred Cherry Middle School and guest speaker Ms. Beth Austin, a registrar and historian for the Hampton History Museum. The event concluded with a potluck spread organized by the multi-cultural committee and an opportunity for attendees to tour the historical displays set up through the Hall of Heroes.
