190123-N-EW498-353 NAVAL STATION MAYPORT (Jan. 23, 2019) Engineman 2nd Class (SW) Austin Lund, a search and rescue swimmer aboard the Independence Class Littoral Combat Ship USS Detroit (LCS-7), is disconnected from the rescue strop during a Deployment/Recovery Evolution. The LCS is a highly maneuverable, lethal and adaptable ship designed to support focused mine countermeasures, anti-submarine warfare, and surface warfare missions.
