The combined mission also involved U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3-2 Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division with an objective to clear the village and surrounding palm groves of weapon caches and anti- Iraqi forces.
