Spc. Tyler Sparks, a combat medic from St. Cloud, Minn., marks the forehead of his simulated patient with a “TQ” to indicate a tourniquet has been applied to the patient and prepares him for transport during medical evacuation training at Camp Virginia, Kuwait, Jan. 11, 2012. The patient was played by Staff Sgt. Clint Leblanc, a mechanic from Little Falls, Minn. Soldiers from the Brainerd-, Minn., based 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 194th Armor, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry “Red Bull” Division were able to incorporate simulated wounds, fake blood and a U.S. Navy SH-60 Sea Hawk air ambulance helicopter from the Ridgecrest-, Calif., based 2515th Air Ambulance Detachment to enhance training.
