U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jerod Byron Young, an electrician with Regimental Combat Team 5 and 21-year-old native of Atlanta, checks the oil on a generator here, Dec. 9. Young joined the Marine Corps to follow in the footsteps of his father, retired Master Gunnery Sgt. Jason Anderson, who spent 26 years in the service. Young is currently tasked with repairing utilities equipment such as air conditioners and generators, vital to the mission and comfort of Marines at combat outposts and patrol bases across southern Helmand.
