U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Calvin Kern, a critical care flight paramedic with Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, conducts pre-flight checks prior to a combined aeromedical evacuation of an injured patient as a part of the Combined Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief portion of Cobra Gold 19 in Chachoengsao, Kingdom of Thailand, Feb. 20, 2019. The Indian Armed Forces, Republic of Korea National Military, U.S. Military, Royal Thai Armed Forces, Japan Self-Defense Force, Indonesian National Armed Forces, Chinese People's Liberation Army, Malaysian Armed Forces and the Singapore Armed Forces demonstrated their combined disaster response capabilities during this portion of Cobra Gold 19. Exercise Cobra Gold is the largest Theatre Security Cooperation exercise in the Indo-Pacific region and is an integral part of the U.S. Commitment to strengthen engagement in the region.
