Members of 1st Battalion gather for a formation Dec. 2, 2011, on Camp Atterbury, Ind. The members of 1st battalion are currently attached to several different Provincial Reconstruction Teams as a security force for their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. A PRT is a joint force of U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy service members that will deploy to Afghanistan to assist in the effort to rebuild and stabilize the local government and infrastructure. This is the first time the entire battalion has gathered in one place since World War II.
