Honorary guest Pat Mills attends a Keel Laying Ceremony where she will brand her initials into one of Department of the Navy's newest Mobile Landing Platform (MLP) ships, United States Naval Ship (USNS) Montford Point, at the General Dynamics national Steel and Shipbuilding Company shipyard, San Diego, Jan. 19, 2012. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus chose to name the MLP ship as a way to recognize American pioneers and heroes both collectively and individually.
