190225-N-RF885-023 CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA (Feb. 25, 2019) Chief Quartermaster Johnathan Restrepo, from Cali, Columbia, lowers the national ensign aboard the future USS Charleston (LCS 18) as the crew of the littoral combat ship prepares for their upcoming commissioning ceremony. Charleston will be the 16th littoral combat ship to enter the fleet and the ninth Independence variant.
