(Feb. 25, 2019) Wyatt Shuman (left), younger brother of Sonar Technician (Submarines) Third Class Burke Shuman (right), welcomes his brother home with surprise news that he has joined the Navy too and will leave for boot camp to be an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate in July of this year during a homecoming celebration for the Los Angeles-class, fast-attack submarine USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720), on Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Conn. Pittsburgh is returning from the European Command Area of Responsibility where they executed the Chief of Naval Operation’s Maritime Strategy in supporting national security interests and Maritime Security Operations.
