A Grizzly Youth Academy cadet confidently stands and poses on the alpine tower at Camp San Luis Obispo, California. The students climb the obstacle during an acclimation phase. This activity challenges the fears that the cadets have, encouraging them to attempt what they think is impossible. At the same time, they begin to establish trust with staff as the staff keeps them safe and anchors them. Candidates encourage and support each other as they each attempt to climb the tower.
