A pair of Hawaiian Stilt birds fly past U.S. Marines with Combat Assault Company (CAC), 3rd Marine Regiment, while they uproot pickle weed with their amphibious assault vehicle (AAV) from the Nu’upia Ponds Wildlife Management Area during the 34th Annual ‘Mud Ops,' Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), Feb. 26, 2019. The MCBH Environmental Compliance and Protection Department partnered with CAC to utilize their AAVs in an effort to fight back against invasive plants and prepare plots of wetlands for local water fowl.
