Sgt. Andrew Smith, a scout with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, ground guides his vehicle through the gate of the Oasis, Jan. 16. The Oasis is a compound unto itself where soldiers are able to relax for a few days. The Oasis offers a stress-free environment with a Morale, Welfare and Recreation tent, gym tent, a dining tent and a volleyball court. Soldiers are also given their own private room.
