FORT BENNING, Ga. – New recipients of the Expert Infantryman Badge receive congratulations from their fellow Soldiers March 1 at Molnar Range. Of 457 Soldiers who began the five-day Expert Infantryman Badge assessment, only 89 were able to earn their EIBs at Molnar Range March 1. The Soldiers, who came from military units at Fort Benning and Fort Stewart, Georgia, were at Molnar Range for one week of training and one week of rehearsal before the testing began Feb. 25. The purpose of the EIB is to recognize Infantrymen who have demonstrated a mastery of critical tasks. These tasks build on the foundation of individual proficiency, allowing them to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy.
