Soldiers raise the flag marking the beginning of the workday for exercise Yama Sakura 61 Jan. 27. Yama Sakura is United States Army Pacific’s premier joint bilateral command post exercise with the Japan Self Defense Force. Yama Sakura 61 marks the largest bi-lateral exercise between the USARPAC and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force since the Great Tohoku Earthquake on March 11, 2011.
