Soldiers of the Japan Self Defense Force give a thrilling Taiko drum performance for a large assembly of American and Japanese soldiers as part of a cultural exchange event at Friendship Hall, Camp Itami, Osaka, Japan, Jan. 27. One hundred 34th Red Bull Infantry Division soldiers participated in Yama Sakura 61 at Camp Itami in Osaka, Japan, Jan. 23 to Feb. 5, 2012. Yama Sakura is an annual, bilateral exercise with the Japan Self Defense Force and the U.S. military. Yama Sakura 61 is a U.S. Army simulation-driven joint-bilateral command post exercise. This is the 30th iteration of the Japan-based exercise series.
