Spc. Andrew Brotherton, with the North Carolina National Guard's 430th Explosive Ordinance Disposal, 60th Troop Command, stands near the zero range at the North Carolina Best Warrior Competition March 4, 2019, at the Camp Butner Training Center in Stem, North Carolina. The competition, held March 4-7, 2019, tests the mental and physical strength of enlisted Soldiers and Noncommissioned Officers through several events including an Army physical fitness test, a 12-mile ruck march, an obstacle course, an essay, weapon qualification, and many other events. Brotherton won first place in the junior enlisted category and is scheduled to represent the North Carolina National Guard at the Region III Best Warrior Competition in May.
