Marine logistics personnel guide Humvees from landing craft, air cushions aboard the USS Kearsarge, Jan. 31, during Exercise Bold Alligator 2012. During three days of logistics operations, 2,400 short tons of equipment were brought on board. The Kearsarge is able to transport Marines to a destination and then support those Marines while they conduct operations ashore for up to 30 days. Exercise Bold Alligator 2012 represents the Navy and Marine Corps’ revitalization of the full range of amphibious operations while showcasing the advantages of seabasing.
