Cpl. Alejandro I. Escorcia, a Brenham, Texas, native with Combat Logistics Battalion 11, locks a stretcher into a CH-53E Super Stallion during casualty-evacuation training aboard USS Makin Island (LHD 8) Jan. 28. The battalion provides logistics and services to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is currently deployed aboard the amphibious assault ship as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force. The group is providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
