A drill instuctor with Recieving Company, Support Battalion instructs a new recruit with Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, to put on his mesh bag during a contraband brief at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, March 18. Recruits were informed of all the items they weren’t allowed to have in order to begin training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate June 14.
