Madison, N.C., native Sgt. 1st Class John "Smoke" Duggins, 36, the 1st Platoon sergeant of Battery B, 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, provides security as residents pass through the streets north of the Grey'at neighborhood of Baghdad's Adhamiyah district June 28. Constant foot patrols are the normal for paratroopers in Adhamiyah who are using interaction with the residents to counter insurgents and terrorists determined to plunge Baghdad into chaos.
