JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 26, 2019) – Lt. Cmdr. Chad Moore (right), a nurse anesthetist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, and a colleague use video laryngoscopy to intubate a patient in an operating suite. Moore, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was named a Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida. “I’m honored and humbled to have had the opportunity to care for those who are most deserving. As a younger critical care nurse, I cared for service members returning from overseas with injuries sustained in battle. My mentors taught me to become a capable and independent nurse anesthetist, providing compassionate care at a time when patients feel most vulnerable. I’m especially honored to have the opportunity to pass along that skillset to the next generation who will care for our fellow wounded service members.” Four Naval Hospital Jacksonville nurses have been selected for The Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida’s “Great 100” award. The award recognizes nurses who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the patients and families for whom they care, the profession as a whole, and the community in which they live.
