JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 29, 2019) – Force Master Chief Hosea Smith, Navy Medicine’s force master chief and director of the hospital corps, discusses operational readiness with 16 hospital corpsmen graduating from Navy Medicine’s Hospital Corpsman Trauma Training program at Naval Hospital Jacksonville on March 29. The corpsmen received two weeks of training at NH Jacksonville (including simulation labs and a Tactical Combat Casualty Care course), followed by five weeks at UF Health Jacksonville (a Level I trauma center), with rotations in the emergency department, trauma resuscitation, intensive care unit, rapid response team, and wound management.
