Marine amphibious assault vehicles increase speed before arriving on shore during the multilateral amphibious assault here Feb. 10. The Marines were conducting the amphibious assault with Royal Thai Marines and Republic of Korea Marines during Exercise Cobra Gold 2012. Cobra Gold is an annual co-sponsored exercise built to improve the capability to plan and conduct combined-joint operations, build relationships between partner nations and improve interoperability across the Asia-Pacific region.
