Pfc. Rishino Samuels, 1st Sapper Platoon sergeant, 1st Engineering Company, stands in formation with his engineering soldiers during a combat engineering demonstration and graduation ceremonies from their first phase of the AFL Engineer Capacity Building Program, Camp Tubman, Liberia, Feb. 3. During the course, engineers were taught how to search for and destroy land mines, establish potable water sources and other necessary combat engineer capabilities. The capacity building of the AFL is divided up among United Nations Mission in Liberia-attached personnel, United States military units from Operation Onward Liberty and other military units that have come together to assist the fledgling AFL into developing into a competent, professional military service.
