A wreath lays on a memorial commemorating personnel lost during joint recovery operations in Vietnam at Joint Base Pearl-Harbor, Hickam, Hawaii, April 8, 2019. On April 7, 2001, a catastrophic Mi-17 helicopter crash in Vietnam, attributed to inclement weather, took the lives of seven American service members and nine Vietnamese partners who were conducting a mission in Quang Binh Province. DPAA held memorial ceremonies at its facilities in Hawaii and Hanoi to honor their sacrifice and keep their memory alive. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Michael O'Neal)
