U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. William D. Beydler answers questions from service members belonging to Marine Aircraft Group 36 during Exercise Cobra Gold 2012 here Feb. 13. MAG 36 is deployed to the Kingdom of Thailand for Exercise Cobra Gold 2012 to conduct Field Training Exercise events and Humanitarian Civic Assistance in order to improve combat readiness, improve inter-service and multinational interoperability with participating nations. Cobra Gold is a recurring multinational and multiservice exercise co-hosted annually by the U.S. and the Kingdom of Thailand. Cobra Gold 2012 is the 31st iteration of the exercise, which is designed to advance regional security by exercising a robust multinational force from nations sharing common goals and security commitments in the Asia-Pacific region. Beydler is the commanding general for 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
