A camera operator images the Moon through the eyepiece of the U.S. Naval Observatory's historic 12-inch refractor telescope as part of a Science Channel documentary being filmed on the Observatory grounds. USNO played an important role in the Apollo lunar missions 50 years ago, providing navigational star charts used on the missions to augment their inertial guidance systems.
