CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Craig Hires, left, 108th Sustainment Brigade, Task Force Lincoln, reviews his target with Army Maj. Trevor Klein, 34th Infantry Division, Minnesota Army National Guard, after firing a Beretta M9 during the range qualification event of the German Armed Forces Badge (GAFB) for Military Proficiency on April 9, 2019, at Udairi Range, Kuwait. During this event, participants stand and shoot a total of five rounds with a Beretta M9 at three silhouettes. Participants, who must hit each target at a minimum, shoot in order at targets one, two, three, one, two and earn bronze with three hits, silver for four hits and gold for five hits. U.S. Army Central hosts events such as the GAFB to enhance service member’s personal abilities to stay combat ready which improves overall capabilities.
