David Freed, an aviation life support system division chief with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (All-Weather) 225 and a Boyers, Pa., native, tightens every screw on an F/A-18 pilots’ parachute in an ejection seat aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Feb. 10. The purpose of the ejection seat is pilot survival and seats are inspected daily to ensure they are fully functional.
