U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Josiah Noble, paratrooper assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, competes in the Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning, Georgia, April 12, 2019. The three-day Best Ranger Competition tests competitors in 31 events spanning a distance of more than 70 miles. The David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition, organized annually by the Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade at Fort Benning, was founded in 1982 and has expanded to include all Ranger-qualified Soldiers throughout the Army and other willing Ranger-qualified service members from sister services.
