Spc. Daniel Fredrick, of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, receives a Combat Action Badge at Forward Operating Base Mehtar Lam from Col. Joel Ward, commander of the 45th IBCT, for direct participation in ground combat action, having been personally present and under direct hostile enemy fire in Afghanistan, while serving in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Feb. 16. He is one of more the 2,200 Oklahoma Army National Guard soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
