Ahaip and his father await transportation to Najaf, Iraq, on U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters June 2 at Forward Operating Base Hammer, Iraq. Soldiers with the 3rd (Heavy) Brigade Combat Team worked with Iraq's Ministry of Health to coordinate the life-changing surgery and to provide transportation to al Sadr hospital in Najaf where the first of two surgeries was conducted.
