Lt. Jonathan Gower, a battle surgeon assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, pays his respects to Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Kyler Estrada during a memorial ceremony in the chapel of the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans. Estrada, who was assigned to the 11th MEU, died while conducting night live fire and maneuver training in Djibouti, Africa. New Orleans and embarked Marines assigned to the 11th MEU are deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
