Those who placed in the Ellsworth Air Force Base’s Strongest Competition pose for a group photo at the Pride Hangar on Ellsworth AFB, S.D., April 25, 2019. Event participants faced off on five tests of strength via a max-out deadlift, farmer’s carry, tire flip, keg run and vehicle pull. First place winners were Senior Airman Ellicia Word, top left, a 28th Medical Support Squadron medical logistician, and Tech. Sgt. Dustin Jespersen, top middle, a 28th Operations Squadron survival, evasion, resistance and escape specialist. Second place went to Staff Sgt.
