Col. Paul Norwood, commander of the 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, affixes a Purple Heart medal to the collar of Spc. James Allum, an interrogator with Company B, 109th Military Intelligence Battalion, Feb. 27, during a Purple Heart pinning ceremony for Allum at the brigade's motor pool on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. A rocket attack while deployed to Iraq in early 2010 gave Allum memory loss and resulted in a severe movement disorder that has changed his life forever.
