U.S. Marines with 1st Platoon, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Marines with 1st Platoon, Force Reconnaissance Company, II Marine Expeditionary Force, and the Norwegian Coastal Ranger Commando (KJK) conduct CB90-class fast assault craft drills during exercise Platinum Ren at Fort Trondennes, Harstad, Norway, May 8, 2019. The CB90 is a 500 horsepower class of fast military assault craft that can execute extremely sharp turns at high speeds and decelerate from top speed to a full stop in 2.5 boat lengths allowing the boats to operate in close proximity to one another. Exercise Platinum Ren is a theater security cooperation training evolution held with Norwegian Coastal Ranger Commando to sustain mission essential tasks in harsh operating environments and strengthen coalition partnerships.
