An F/A-18F Super Hornet, attached to the "Black Knights" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 154, goes to afterburner prior to launching from the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), June 30. Stennis and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 are on a scheduled deployment in support of the global war on terrorism and maritime operations.
