A recruit with Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, attacks tires using Marine Corps Martial Arts techniques during the Bayonet Assault Course I at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, May 15. The course helps recruits build a combat mindset as loud noises are played over a speaker to simulate noises encountered in combat. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Bravo Company is scheduled to graduate July 26.
