U.S. Marines with 1st Marine Aircraft Wing engage in Mission Oriented Protective Posture gear Level 4 during Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise 2019 (MEFEX 19) aboard Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, May 8, 2019. MEFEX 19, a command and control exercise conducted in a simulated deployed environment, is designed to synchronize and bring to bear the full spectrum of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force, while remaining ready to provide the Marine Corps with an experienced staff capable of integrating with international allies and partner nations in a combined joint task force, charged with accomplishing a wide range of military operations.
