190521-N-DS741-0375 ARABIAN SEA (May 21, 2019) The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) launches an F/A 18 Super Hornet during flight operations as it steams through the Arabian Sea. Abraham Lincoln is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet areas of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
