SANTA RITA, Guam (May 22, 2019) Musician 3rd Class Kathryn Whitbeck, a vocalist for the Seventh Fleet Band, sings the national anthems of allied nations as part of Exercise Pacific Vanguard (PACVAN) during a reception aboard the 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19). PACVAN is a quadrilateral exercise between Australia, Japan, Republic of Korea, and U.S. naval forces. Focused on improving the capabilities of participating countries to respond together to crisis and contingencies in the region, PACVAN prepares the participating maritime forces to operate as an integrated, capable, and potent allied force ready to respond to a complex maritime environment in the Indo-Pacific region.
