New Jersey (May 23, 2019) Sailors assigned to USS Virginia (SSN-774) speak to students at Somerset County Vocational and Technical School in Bridgewater, New Jersey to raise Navy awareness during Navy Fleet Week New York (FWNY) 2019. Submarines are taking part in FWNY to interact with the community and a bring awareness to the Submarine Force. FWNY 2019 takes place from May 22-28, 2019. Held nearly every year since 1984, it is the city's celebration of the sea services. This year marks the 31st year. FWNY provides an opportunity for the citizens of New York City and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen, as well as see firsthand the latest capabilities of today's maritime services.
