A forklift delivers simulated food and medical supplies to a fictional town during the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief scenario here, March 10. Part of the MEU’s certification exercise and including elements of Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marines and Combat Logistics Battalion 31, the HADR spanned three days. Following the completion of CERTEX, the 31st MEU will continue their deployment in the Asia-Pacific region. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward-deployed MEU and remains the nation’s force in readiness in the Asia-Pacific region.
