JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 23, 2019) – Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Alpha Williamson, of Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Behavioral Health Clinic, provides brain health information to retired Navy chief Severo Gapusan at Naval Air Station Jacksonville’s commissary on May 23. Williamson, a native of Biloxi, Mississippi, says, “Mental health is very important to mission readiness. By handing out information at these events, we hope to encourage people to seek medical care to support their mental health.” May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Psychological strength (like physical strength) can be built over time. (U.S. Navy photo by Jacob Sippel, Naval Hospital Jacksonville/Released).
